University case study shows 60 percent drop in soldier suicide attempts

A STRONG STAR-affiliated study recently provided hope in the effort to cure the national tragedy of military suicide. Soldiers at-risk for suicide who received short-term cognitive behavioral therapy were 60 percent less likely to attempt suicide than those who received standard treatment in military mental health clinics.
